BledCom 2010: GOVERNMENT COMMUNICATION

BledCom 2010, International Symposium, Lake Bled, 2-3 July 2010 – Language: English

BledCom symposium
BledCom symposium is a traditional gathering of scholars and practitioners from all over the world who come together to explore and discuss various themes and researches in the field of public relations and related disciplines. It traditionally takes place in the beautiful surroundings of Lake Bled in the first weekend in July. The character of BledCom symposium is a relaxing, pleasant and above all informal.

BledCom 2010, taking place at Bled on July 2 and July 3 2010, will address Government Communication: the communication & public relations activities of government and government agencies – at international, national, regional, and local levels. The management of communication such as capacity building, e-government and e-governance, public diplomacy, and nation-building and national development will also be discussed.

Themes of interest to the conference include:

  • How does public relations contribute to policy-making, strategizing, and evaluation by government agencies?
  • What is the role of public relations vis-a-vis public diplomacy?
  • What contributions has public relations made, and public relations can make, toward developmental goals (political, social, and economic)?
  • How can the communication departments of governments be structured for effective management of communication by government agencies?

BledCom welcomes public relations experts to adress the above mentioned themes in conceptual and empirical papers or panel proposals for the conference. Please visit the Call for papers section for further information.

Danilo Türk, the president of the Republic of Slovenia, signed on as the honorary sponsor of BledCom 2010.

All the details and news regarding the program are published on BledCom website.
