Superior School of Mass Communication & Media Arts (Portugal)

ESCS assumed, at its date of foundation, a commitment to society that it would carry out a bold mission following the principles that should rule university education, especially polytechnic universities. Nowadays, and more than ever, Portugal needs well prepared professionals, with the ability to criticise and that are well adjusted to the market. The pedagogical and scientific success of a higher education institution depends on its ability to open up to and act on the market, be it the corporate market, its own market, or the market of other national and foreign schools. Therefore, rigid structures, old technology, unmotivated and disperse teachers are incompatible with the levels of innovation and anticipation that ESCS aims at. For over a decade portuguese society has had a high quality institution not only in terms of technology but also in the creation of learning and research spaces, assuming the leadership in the training of competencies that guarantee that " we would never be one school too many because we will never be just another school."

University Rey Juan Carlos (Spain)
